An updated Renault Kwid has been spotted completely undisguised in Brazil, revealing a substantially redesigned front end and several cabin changes.
Key Changes
- Front End: Slim LED daytime-running lights, a gloss-black panel across the nose, and main headlamps positioned lower down in a heavily revised bumper.
- Rear: Clear-lens tail-lamps and a revised two-tone bumper with a silver-coloured faux skid plate.
- Interior: Digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen, and a new three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
India Connection
India received a smaller update for the Kwid in July 2026, including new 3D badging, revised wheel covers, and a Kiger-inspired steering wheel. Mechanically, the Kwid remained unchanged.
Question Arises
Could some of these changes eventually reach the Indian Kwid? While the Brazilian model looks considerably newer, there’s no confirmation that Renault will launch this facelift in India. An immediate introduction seems unlikely, as Renault updated the Indian Kwid recently.
Future Developments
Reports suggest a next-generation Kwid is being developed for India, based on Renault’s newer RGEP architecture. This could bring significant changes compared to the current model.
Significance of Kwid for Renault India
The Kwid remains Renault’s entry model in India, providing a presence at the opposite end of the market. With competitive pricing at Rs 4.53 lakh, it competes with models like the Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso.
