Volkswagen Virtus Facelift: 10 Big Changes Coming

The Volkswagen Virtus is poised for a significant update, drawing inspiration from its closely related Skoda Slavia facelift. Given their shared MQB-A0-IN platform and manufacturing facility, the upcoming changes on the Virtus can be gleaned from the recent Slavia refresh. Herein lie 10 big alterations expected on the Volkswagen Virtus facelift:
1. Refreshed Exterior
The Virtus facelift will embrace a revamped front end, boasting updated headlamps, a redesigned grille, and bumper modifications. A new look is also in store for the rear, featuring revised LED tail lamps and minor bumper upgrades while retaining the overall silhouette.
2. New Virtual Cockpit
A larger TFT driver display is anticipated, branded as Volkswagen's Virtual Cockpit. Similar to the Slavia's 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, this upgrade will enhance driver engagement by displaying navigation and other information directly ahead.
3. New Infotainment With Google AI
The entertainment system will receive a substantial boost, featuring a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen integrated with Google Cloud-powered AI assistance. Wireless smartphone connectivity is also supported, reflecting a modern approach to in-car infotainment.
4. 360-Degree Camera
A 360-degree camera is expected to be introduced, simplifying parking and enhancing safety by providing a surround-view of the vehicle. This feature is already present in the updated Slavia and will likely find its way onto the Virtus facelift.
5. New Alloy Wheels
New alloy wheel designs are in the cards for the Virtus facelift, offering unique styling to differentiate it from its sibling, while maintaining its individual identity.
6. Rear Disc Brakes
The facelift could bring rear disc brakes to higher-spec 1.5 TSI variants, enhancing braking performance and adding a valuable hardware upgrade.
7. Rear Seat Massager
Perhaps most surprisingly, the Virtus is expected to feature a rear seat massager, a unique offering that sets it apart from competitors. This addition could significantly enhance passenger comfort during long journeys.
8-Speed Automatic Transmission
The 1.0 TSI model will receive an 8-speed automatic transmission from AISIN, replacing the current 6-speed unit. The 1.5 TSI, however, will retain its 7-speed DSG gearbox.
9. New Exterior Colours
Volkswagen is set to introduce a range of new exterior colours with the facelift, potentially including exclusive shades tailored for Volkswagen models.
10. GT Line Styling Upgrades
Finally, GT Line variants will receive distinctive styling, featuring more aggressive details, blacked-out elements, sportier alloy wheels, and other modifications to highlight their performance orientation.
