7-Seater EVs That You Can Buy Today!
Mahindra XEV 9S - Electric SUV for Large Families
The first and currently the most popular 7-seater EV in India is the newly launched Mahindra XEV 9S. It is based on the same INGLO electric architecture as Mahindra's electric range, which comprises XEV 9E and the BE and the upcoming BE 07. The XEV 9S is basically the electric alternative to the company's popular three-row SUV, the XUV 7XO.
This SUV comes available with three battery pack options of 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh. And its power figures range from 228 bhp to 282 bhp. The 79 kWh version claims a real-world range of around 500 km. Meanwhile, the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in around 7 seconds.
The cabin comes loaded with:
- A triple-screen dashboard
- Premium audio system
- Ventilated seats
- Panoramic sunroof
- Powered tailgate
- 360-degree camera
- Level 2 ADAS
Its prices start at Rs 19.95 lakh and go up to Rs 30.70 lakh.
Kia Carens Clavis EV - Practical Electric MPV
For buyers who want more practicality and cabin space and not an SUV, they can opt for the Kia Carens Clavis EV. It is one of the few electric seven-seater MPVs currently available in India. This MPV has been designed with the same family-focused philosophy as the standard Carens Clavis.
The electric MPV is offered with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options. These versions offer claimed ranges of 404 km and 490 km, respectively. Of these, the more powerful version produces 171 PS and 255 Nm. It also comes with a 100 kW DC fast-charging system. It can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in around 39 minutes.
The Carens Clavis EV also gets features such as:
- Dual 12.3-inch screens
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ventilated front seats
- Wireless charging
- Bose audio system
- 360-degree camera
- Level 2 ADAS
With the BaaS option, its starting price drops to Rs 12.84 lakh plus Rs 3.3 per km.

The VF MPV 7 comes with seven seats, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, and automatic climate control with vents for all three rows. However, unlike some of its more expensive rivals, it misses out on features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, and ADAS.
BYD eMAX 7 - Premium Electric MPV
The BYD eMAX 7 is one of the very first 7-seater electric MPVs in the country. The company has recently launched the entry-level Comfort variant. It comes available in both six- and seven-seat configurations, and the seven-seater version is priced at Rs 28.30 lakh.
