Mahindra has officially unveiled its highly anticipated lifestyle pickup truck, the Scorpio Lifestyler, in India, marking its entry into international markets as the Mahindra Lifestyler. Here’s what you need to know about this new offering.
Two Names, One Product
This pickup is a global product developed by Mahindra, destined for both domestic and international markets under different names. In India, it’s known as the Scorpio Lifestyler, leveraging the established Scorpio brand, while internationally it goes by Mahindra Lifestyler.
Launch Timeline, Price & Expectations
The Scorpio Lifestyler is scheduled for launch in April 2027, aligning with India’s CAFE III (Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency) norms. With a surprising entry price of Rs 19.79 lakh, ex-showroom, it undercuts competitors like the Isuzu DMax V-Cross and Toyota Hilux, offering a compelling value proposition.
Mahindra aims to capitalize on an untouched opportunity in the Indian market, introducing a modern, comfortable, feature-rich, and capable pickup truck segment with the Lifestyler. The company hopes for another successful launch similar to that of the Thar.
Design Highlights
The production version of the Global Pik-Up concept shown earlier is well-proportioned and boasts an interesting design. It features a double-cabin configuration, a prominent grille, muscular front bumper with integrated skid plate, and unique LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs. The side profile showcases its size, while the loading deck incorporates practical touches like conventional pull-type door handles and character lines enhancing its rugged appeal.
Technical Details (Pending)
While Mahindra has withheld specific technical details like dimensions and ground clearance for now, the Lifestyler appears to have a longer wheelbase than the Scorpio-N with a spacious load bay. It is equipped with 18-inch wheels, disc brakes on all four wheels, and clean rear design featuring large Mahindra branding and tailgate lettering.
