The Czech carmaker Skoda is gearing up to unveil the updated Slavia in India. Ahead of its official launch on August 18, the company has dropped a new teaser offering a closer look at the facelifted model’s design and features.
Design Highlights:
- Front End: The teaser reveals a revised grille with enhanced chrome detailing, updated headlamps, and redesigned bumper and fog lamp housings.
- Alloy Wheels: New 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels are introduced, promising a sportier look.
- Tail Lamps: Rear-end changes include restyled LED tail lamps with a new internal LED pattern and sequential turn indicators.
- Chrome Accents: Chrome trim around the window line adds a touch of elegance to the sedan’s profile.
Interior and Features:
While Skoda hasn’t disclosed interior details yet, expectations include:
- A larger infotainment touchscreen.
- 10.25-inch digital driver’s display (in top variants).
- Automatic climate control, sunroof, powered seats, and a wireless phone charger—features already present in the current model.
- The addition of a rear-seat massage function, recently introduced in the updated Kushaq, is also possible.
Under the Hood:
Mechanically, the facelifted Slavia will retain its existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI produces 115 bhp and 178 Nm, while the 1.5-litre engine delivers 150 bhp and 250 Nm. Both are paired with automatic transmissions—a new eight-speed torque converter automatic for the 1.0-litre model and a seven-speed DSG for the 1.5-litre unit.
Launch and Competitors:
The 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift will be priced slightly higher than the outgoing model, starting from approximately Rs 10 lakh. It will compete with established rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Volkswagen Virtus.
